KITCHEN DESIGN: HOW TO COMBINE AESTHETICS WITH FUNCTIONALITY
The kitchens are one of the spaces that have been most transformed in recent years. During the last decade the kitchen has gone from being a secondary room relegated to being a place to cook, to become one of the main pieces of our lives, where we receive visitors, where you live with your family, and ultimately where we like to make social or family life.
This change of role, has meant that the kitchen takes on a special relevance in our lives, and especially at this time where, by the circumstances we are living, we must spend more time at home and so we realize that we need more integrated spaces among themselves, more bright and more open.
That is why it is so important for us to integrate the kitchens as spaces to be lived at all times and in tune with the rest of the rooms and not as an independent and differentiated from the rest of the house. Whenever possible, we usually conceive it as another part of the living room and we treat it as if it were another piece of furniture in the living room, even designing it with noble materials to accentuate that special character within our home.
At Mimouca Design we like to imagine the kitchen not only as a functional and working element, but also as an aesthetic element of great versatility. We conceive and design it as a reflection of each client’s personality, which is why we opt for custom-made designs that allow us to combine the aesthetic with the functional and to adapt each and every one of the elements that make it up to the life of our clients, giving priority to the use of pieces and elements of great design and quality.
Regarding the materials, we always look for elements that transmit elegance, timelessness, order, cleanliness and durability. As an example, in the floors we choose those materials that are more “suffered” and that can communicate that sensation, while in the support areas and high areas we are based on the search for noble materials such as marble, natural wood or brass.
